Why Rings when the wedding bell rings

The hole in the ring’s center represented a gateway or door leading to future events. 

These rings were placed by a man upon the finger of his wife, signifying his confidence in her ability to care for his house. It was placed on the left hand, as it is considered the weaker side of the body, to indicate the submission of the woman to the man. But later, romantic notions like the ring finger of the left hand have veins which goes to the heart were added. It did not stop here. More romantic notions were added in the course of time like the circular design implied an eternal bond – as we say “till death do us part “in the modern world. According to Chinese people, each finger represents a different relationship- the thumb represents your parents, an index finger represents your siblings, middle finger represents yourself, fourth finger represents your life partner and the  little finger represents your children.
